Florida AIDS Walk
3/27/08: The annual Florida AIDS Walk started from downtown Fort Lauderdale, went to the ocean and returned. Hosted by Ruben Bermudez with featured guests, actor Blair Underwood and actor/comedian Mario Cantone.

QueerChannel to Go HD!
QueerChannel has just purchased an new High Definition camera and will be shooting their first HD video at the Stonewall Pride Parade in June.Pride of Greater Fort Lauderdale has guaranteed QC terrific locations for shooting the parade and we will be doing a two-camera shoot.

Pridefest 2008
4/13/08: Ft. Lauderdale's gay community is so large it has two separate gay pride organizations holding two separate gay pride festivals. This is the spring festival thrown by Pride South Florida. The other pride festival and the pride parade will be held in June. Hosted by Baileey.

Sleazy Awards
The annual Sleazy Awards is a humorous (and sleazy) awards presentation for locals receiving the real "important" awards to the gay community. The annual show is a fund-raiser for local charities. The year's "Sleazies" were a benefit for Shadowood II which provides services for the homeless and underprivileged with HIV/AIDS.

How To Become One of Our "Hottest Friends"
We're getting a lot of inquiries on how to appear on a "Hottest Friends" video. Here are the simple rules:
1. First, you have to be at least 18 years old. I reject those friend requests for those under 18 but I might miss sometime.
2. Your profile must identify you preferably as either "gay" or "bi". I don't think a straight guy would want to identify as a friend of QUEERchannel. You can either come out and say it or other indications on your profile will work.
3. Your pictures must be available for me to view and there must be enough there to convince me that you are who you say you are.
4. I need at least 5 good pictures to use in the video.
5. We must think you're hot. Sorry, but we can be picky sometimes.
