Poverello Center Open House

The Poverello Center holds an open house for the community. The Poverello Center is a food bank helping to feed people with HIV/AIDS. Poverello is partially funded by its huge thrift store and hopes to be moving into its new, larger facilities by the end of 2010.

"An Evening with the Stars"

The annual fund-raising show for the Poverello Center. Hosted by Nicholette and features Nikki Adams, Florida's Own Dame Edna, Joe Posa as Joan Rivers, Cashetta, Shardee Ross and Charlize Angel.

Leather Masked Ball Volunteer Appreciation Party and Check Presentation

The Leather Masked Ball held by the Lambda Men's Brotherhood is an annual charity benefit. This year checks were presented to the Leather Museum and Archives and Equality Florida while thanking their volunteers for making The Ball possible. Held in the Manchester Room at Georgie's Alibi.

3/27/08: The annual Florida AIDS Walk started from downtown Fort Lauderdale, went to the ocean and returned. Hosted by Ruben Bermudez with featured guests, actor Blair Underwood and actor/comedian Mario Cantone.
