3/9/09: The annual Sleazy Awards held at the Boardwalk Bar in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. "The Sleazies" have become a major event and is a parody of other award presentations in our area. Hosted by Carmen deLeon and Michael Lopez-Mata.

3/8/09: The first ever pool party to coincide with the annual Sleazy Awards. Held at the Cheston House Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

'God Hates Fags' Counter-Protest

1/16/09: Reverend Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas scheduled a protest against the Fort Lauderdale gay community and the Rising Action Theatre's presentation of "The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told". The gay community, in response, came out to counter-protest.

1/8/09: A "behind the scenes" video of a Dennis Dean photo shoot of J.D. Ordonez who appeared on MTV's "The Real World/Brooklyn". J.D. is a local resident who works as a dolphin trainer at the Miami Seaquarium.
