6/25/00 - When the long-established gay pride organization decided to move the annual PrideFest to March and no longer have a gay pride parade, a group of a bout a dozen people decided to form their own organization and have their own June festivities. That new organization became known as Pride of Greater Fort Lauderdale. This was the first, Stonewall Gay Pride Parade.
